Other than formal surveys, you can keep an eye on psychological safety by listening to the language of your colleagues. You are responsible to responding appropriately.

When you know the state of psychological safety at your company, you can begin to influence it. Here are a couple things to look out for according to Fabian Camargo,

  • Good signs: "What can we learn from that?" or "Thanks for the feedback" or "What do you think?"
  • Bad signs: Only the powerful are questioning things; or ideas are met with hostility; or arguments end with personal and petty attacks
